Get ready for an electrifying evening as legendary R&B howler Barrence Whitfield returns to Off Cabot in Beverly! Join us for this special fundraising event supporting the 2025 Salem Jazz and Soul Festival, where all proceeds help continue our mission of providing free concerts and vital music education programs across the North Shore.

Experience the raw energy of Barrence Whitfield, a Beverly resident whose revved-up music and over-the-top vocal style make him one of the wildest frontmen of his time. This frantic soul shouter earned a potent cult following after his self-titled debut album in 1984, followed by the electrifying “Dig Yourself” (1985) and “Ow! Ow! Ow!” (1987). After stepping away for much of the 2000s, Whitfield proved he still had the goods with 2012’s “Dig Thy Savage Soul,” while 2018’s “Soul Flowers of Titan” and 2023’s “Glory” demonstrated his command of party-starting soul remains as potent as ever.

Whitfield lives for the era when rhythm & blues and rock & roll walked hand in hand, and his performances capture that magical fusion with unmatched authenticity and energy.
