About this Event

Join Essex Heritage for a special evening celebrating the history of the printed word.

Join Essex Heritage for a special evening celebrating the history of the printed word. We’re thrilled to invite you to the Museum of Printing in Haverhill, a fantastic non-profit dedicated to preserving the history of graphic arts, typesetting, and printing technologies.

Explore their galleries and exhibits showcasing one of the world’s largest collections of printing hardware and ephemera. The museum also has multiple libraries and a Bible room featuring many rare treasures such as a 1904 Tissot Bible, the first Bible printed with full-color illustrations.

Guests will discover how print shaped culture, communication, and commerce from the earliest days of movable type to modern digital design. You’ll even see an authentic replica of an English Common Press, the kind of wooden hand-press that was used during the American Revolution!

Whether you’re a history enthusiast or simply curious about the roots of the printed page, this is a can’t-miss opportunity to connect with the region’s creative and industrial heritage.

This event is open to Essex Heritage members FREE of charge but registration is required. Space is limited. Non-member registration is $5.00 per person. Light refreshments will be provided.
