About this Event
In light of recent events, NAGLY has made the decision to open the NAGLY Library to our community regardless of age. Historically, libraries have been institutions of shared knowledge, community building and support, and even a form of resistance. In that spirit, we would like to open our doors to all members of the public once a week on Thursdays from 5-7 pm. We invite you to use our space as a place of respite, a place of learning, and even a place of action.
Our library currently boasts a little over 2,000 books, most of which are written by LGBTQ+ authors or are about the LGBTQ+ community. This includes fiction and non-fiction, as well as a number of rare out of print LGBTQ+ titles. Our library is a valuable resource for educators, politicians, mental health providers, and parents and other caregivers.
In addition to our books, we also have several computers (both Mac and Windows) and free secure internet for you to use. We have a printer that can be utilized for small printing needs. And we have tables and chairs in the library, both for comfort and for utility. Our librarian will be on staff for your needs.
We hope you will take advantage of this unique opportunity. Whether you are looking to educate yourself on LGBTQ+ issues, take some time for activism such as letter writing, or just need a safe space to be yourself, we look forward to serving our community and hope to see you!
