Intimate portraits of legendary musicians from the golden era of WFNX radio

Venue: The Galleries at LynnArts, 25 Exchange Street, Lynn, Massachusetts
For nearly 30 years, Lynn, Massachusetts, was a destination for some of the most iconic musicians from across the country and beyond. The reason was singular: the groundbreaking WFNX radio station.
Julie Kramer, the former music director and hostess of the award-winning “Leftover Lunch,” was an integral part of the FNX fabric for 25 years. What most people outside of her circle of friends didn’t know was that photography had always been her first passion. With access to legendary artists, many of whom would go on to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Julie was able to capture relaxed, intimate portraits of these artists at a time when there were no cell phone selfies or the internet for things to go viral on.
With at least one, if not two, cameras around her at all times, she was able to document the procession of celebrities that passed through the station, creating an unprecedented archive of music history.
Please join us in witnessing this slice of history at 25 Exchange Street in Lynn, where everything happened.
