Thanks to the generous sponsorship of The Leading Ladies, the Cabot Theater and Green Beverly will host their second annual free event to engage North Shore communities in action-oriented conversation around sustainable home energy. Anchored by lively and engaging presentations from three teams of local experts and enthusiasts, the evening will include musical performances by Beverly’s own Kev G Mor, childcare, meals, prizes, and complementary filtered water.
At this family-friendly event, Change is Simple will host activities for school-aged children, with support from the Salem High School early education program. Complimentary meals will be provided by Salem nonprofit Root, in addition to standard concessions available for purchase. Filtered drinking water will be available at no charge to fill your own clean reusable drinking containers, courtesy of The Cabot for this special event.
Green Beverly has brought together local energy-focused individuals and organizations to share insight into what we can do in our daily lives to reduce energy consumption, learn about the latest energy incentives and products, and make the most of renewable resources. Inclusive content will provide high-impact actions accessible to both renters and homeowners.
Team-led topics include:
Reduce. Our energy-consuming lifestyles are not sustainable. Beverly residences produce 27% of the City’s greenhouse gas emissions—we must pay closer attention to how our living spaces use energy. Whether you live in a home or apartment, the Reduce Team will share tips on how to manage your life to save time and money, and lower your home’s carbon output.
Replace. As our homes’ heating and cooling systems, hot water heaters, and appliances age, there is an opportunity to replace them with more energy efficient systems. The Replace team will guide us through the complex factors involved with energy product selection, including the wild world of policies, incentives, and rebates. No matter your price point, there’s something you can do to lower your home’s utility bill, carbon output and ease the burden on our community and planet.
Renew. Energy is neither created nor destroyed… right? The Renew team will share options that we have as both renters and homeowners to shift our power (electricity) to clean/renewable energy, hence removing fossil fuels from electricity generation. Hear how various financial incentives can help with the transition to clean/renewable energy as we continue to adapt to a changing climate.
A community hub for sustainable living, Green Beverly is committed to helping local residents and businesses live more sustainably through actionable information, inspiration, and education in order to support our region’s climate resilience. GreenBeverly.org
