The Woman’s Friend Society, a Salem-based nonprofit that has been a positive and pioneering presence in the community since 1876. For 150 years, WFS has remained committed to supporting women in need—today, through providing affordable housing at Emmerton House and through the outreach efforts of our dedicated committees.
This fall, we are honored to celebrate this milestone with a gala on Friday, September 11 at the Salem Waterfront Hotel—an evening that will both commemorate our history and raise critical funds to sustain our mission into the future.
The evening will include a cocktail reception, dinner, and a thoughtfully curated program featuring:
● Recognition of three distinguished women who have made a meaningful impact in the Salem community
● Keynote speaker- Renee Blacken- 1st women to row Atlantic Dash solo.
● Presentation- Beverly Cooper Pierce, noted historical fiction writer
