The general public is welcome from 10AM to 1PM. Members\, please bring your membership cards so that your membership status can be easily verified.\nPlease note the silent auction has moved to Friday night during the Plant Sale Preview Party\, and you can buy tickets for the Preview Party here.\nWe recommend bringing your own wheelbarrows or wagons to transport plants to your vehicle\, if possible.\nCoffee\, tea\, and a selection of pastries will be available for purchase.\nThis is a rain or shine event.\nBe sure to visit the gardens at Long Hill to check out where your plants originated!\n\nRegistration is not necessary for this event.

Every item in the home is a historic collection piece original to the couple and beautifully conserved. \nThe tour will last approximately 50-60 minutes. Guests are encouraged to take their time\, linger in favorite spaces\, and enjoy a deeper connection to the history and character of this special place. There will be an Interpreter inside the house to answer any questions you may have throughout your experience. \nAfter your indoor exploration\, extend your visit with a stroll through the formal gardens and expansive grounds\, where seasonal blooms offer the perfect complement to your tour. \nPlease Note: Our Self-Guided Tour tickets can be purchased onsite only at our Garden Gateway. DESCRIPTION:Step inside the historic elegance of Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens and explore at your own pace with this self-guided house tour experience. \nWander through the beautifully preserved rooms of the early 20th-century home\, once the summer residence of Helen Stevens Coolidge and John Gardner Coolidge. As you move from room to room\, discover stories of the family’s life\, travels\, and passion for horticulture\, reflected in both the architecture and surrounding landscape. \nThroughout the house\, thoughtfully placed signage and interpretive materials will highlight original furnishings\, unique design details\, and the legacy of the property. Guests are encouraged to take their time\, linger in favorite spaces\, and enjoy a deeper connection to the history and character of this special place. There will be an Interpreter inside the house to answer any questions you may have throughout your experience. \nAfter your indoor exploration\, extend your visit with a stroll through the formal gardens and expansive grounds\, where seasonal blooms offer the perfect complement to your tour. \nPlease Note: Our Self-Guided Tour tickets can be purchased onsite only at our Garden Gateway. Our Garden Gateway is the brown building adjacent to the parking lot. Self-Guided Tours are free for Trustees Members and North Andover residents. Please show proof of residency upon your arrival.

The Sedgwick family\, who stewarded Long Hill from 1916 to 1979\, cultivated a deep appreciation for Japanese art and horticulture. Mabel Cabot Sedgwick—an accomplished gardener and author of The Garden Month by Month—along with Marjorie Russell Sedgwick\, a rare plants specialist\, shaped the gardens through their shared creative vision. Once the summer home of Helen Stevens Coolidge and John Gardner Coolidge—a diplomat and descendant of Thomas Jefferson and nephew of Isabella Stewart Gardner—the historic house offers a unique glimpse into the lifestyle\, travels\, and tastes of a well-connected New England family. \nParticipants will begin with a short walk from our Garden Gateway Center and explore the first floor of the house. Every item in the home is a historic collection piece original to the couple and beautifully conserved. \nThe tour will last approximately 50-60 minutes. The first floor of the home is wheelchair accessible but we kindly ask no strollers\, food\, or drink in the home. \nPre-registration is required. Refunds for this event must be requested 7 days prior to workshop. In the event of cancellation\, you will be notified via the email address you used to register and refunded in full within 14 business days.
