In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.
Biscuit Drop started as an idea to include as many flavor profiles that I could come up with in one bite. Biscuits are so versatile, and can stand up to all my wild ideas. Being able to create, and craft a quality product is top priority.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.
All of my favorite family memories as far back as I can remember centered around the kitchen. My grandmother used to babysit me and my brother. She would cook three meals a day everyday, and the days I would spend with her, I was in the kitchen cooking every meal with her. She showed me everything I know, and shared all her favorite recipes. I am not a traditionally trained chef, all of my learning began in her kitchen.
Cooking for her was love, and she taught me how to express that in my cooking. In addition to learning how to cook I have always had a need to create. I spent the better part of my twenties as a singer/songwriter playing music and making a living that way.
My passion to create may stem from a musical beginning, but the creative process feels very similar to being in the kitchen and creating recipes. It all stems from the same place.

What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general.
I think that Biscuit Drop plays a very important role as far as being a reflection of where we are as community these days. Biscuit drop is my outlet. I can’t go out and play my new music at an open mic. But I can go to the kitchen and whip up some bangn’ biscuits, and share them with my community.
Putting that energy back into the community, only sparks more creative interactions and inspirations. This kind of plays into the answer for the bonus round here…when we are creating, expressing, and sharing. We are inspiring others to do the same. Creativity works in a circle, the more we put out the more we get.
