Tell us about your organization, business, or initiative.
Centerboard is a nonprofit organization that supports families and young people on the Northshore with housing, access to employment, and educational and financial empowerment. We offer transitional and emergency housing and programs and resources to support youth and families.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do. Share your passions for your business, organization, or initiative.
I am a community-driven Marketing/Communications Coordinator. Community-centered fundraising and uplifting youth voices is a passion to me personally and to our business overall. We are passionate about helping people find housing and resources and about revitalizing the community.
What is the last thing you read, watched, or listened to that had an impact on you?
The last thing that had an impact on us was being involved in the HLC listening session at Lynn Community College a few weeks ago and hearing stories from all different cities and ages based around the affordable living crisis and how change needs to be made surrounding permits and licensing. This session reconfirmed the need for Centerboard’s services in the community, specifically for families and youth.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
People would be surprised to know that we have a newly renovated event space attached to our Centerboard office on City Hall Square called Palette that reopens this Summer as a community space/shared kitchen! Also- 76% of our staff identify as women across the organization.
