In your own words, tell us about your business, organization, or initiative.
I am a feminist based self care artist who focuses on self improvement and self care through painting. I work with different mediums such as oil paints, acrylic, watercolor, cyanotypes, and more.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do. Share your passions for your business, organization, or initiative.
After struggling with self image throughout most of my young adult life, I found that the only way to heal was to paint through it. I want my work to express self satisfaction, excitement, normality, and self acceptance.
What is the last thing you read, watched, or listened to that had an impact on you?
I love listening to self help podcasts, and a quote I think about often is from “You Are A Badass” where Jen Sincero said “There is nothing more unstoppable than a train full of f*ck-yeah”. It makes me think about how excited and fortunate I am to be able to even consider being a full time artist, and how exciting that is, and how that excitement keeps me moving forward.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
The first piece I sold I was 14, and it was bought from a bathroom of a bar, and a few years later I ended up going to art school right down the street from that bar.
