In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.
Essex Art Center is a hub for contemporary art, serving as a production space for artists and a gathering space for the community. We aim to develop artists’ voices at every level, stimulate conversations, and impact social change.
The Essex Art Center functions as an amplifier for today and tomorrow’s creative voices, providing the space to cultivate and create new work and connections.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.
Developing artists’ voices at every level is so important. I want EAC to serve as a venue for students to grow their ideas, for artists to tackle bold, ambitious projects, and for families to find a creative home.

What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general.
Artistic and cultural activities strengthen a community, particularly when they reveal and celebrate its character and identity.
What was the last book you read that made an impact on you?
I am currently reading “Becoming” by Michelle Obama.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you our your business?
In addition to being a non-profit leader, I am also an artist, poet, and Reiki practitioner. Energy work is real 🙂
