In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.
Holistic Energy Works is a fully mobile massage practice. My goal is to provide clients all the relaxing benefits and amenities of a professional massage studio in the comfort of their home or workplace.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.
From playing clarinet in one of the Marine Corps bands out of high school to studying and getting a degree in Art & Design following that I think it’s fair to say I have certainly had success in a number of creative pursuits over the years. While I still love both Music and Art very much, I find neither provides me the same freedom of creativity or ability to connect with others that I’ve found in Massage Therapy.
I do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach to massage. With both new and old clients alike each session is unique and my goal is to ensure that I tailor each one to address the client’s individual goals and needs.
My approach to massage stems from the belief that we all possess the innate potential to heal and be healed. I focus on utilizing relaxing, therapeutic techniques to keep the body in its parasympathetic (relaxed or healing) state and as far away from the sympathetic (fight or flight) state as possible.
What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)
Massage and Polarity Therapy both offer many benefits physically and mentally. I believe that proper self care, rest, and recovery helps people live happier more fulfilling lives while reducing the risk of burnout. I believe that the more creative a community is the more adaptable it is and the more open to positive change it is.
What was the last book you read OR What was the last video you watched that made an impact on you?
The meditation ‘video’ I put on before bed last night
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you our your business?
I have a ‘no gratuity’ policy. Everything is factored into the session rate for more billing transparency.
