SUMMARY:SALEM ART GALLERY OPEN CALL FOR ART 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Salem Art Gallery is seeking artwork inspired by the historical concept of Witch Hunts and moral panics. Any work of qualifying media exploring themes of fear\, persecution\, and societal hysteria will be considered for this exhibit. \nA Witch Hunt is a campaign directed against a person or group holding unorthodox or unpopular views. “The Satanic Panic was a period lasting from the early 1980s to the mid-1990s characterized by a series of modern-day witch trials. “Satan hunters\,” emboldened by the rise of the New Right in 1980\, persecuted hundreds of day care operators. Their actions propelled a Satanic conspiracy theory into the cultural mainstream and has had a lasting impact on conservative politics….Satanic conspiracism created a type of political capital that the New Right exploited to other its enemies and advance its causes.” (Source: https://digitalcommons.memphis.edu/etd/3521/) As we enter a new era of conspiracy and fear\, this exhibit is more appropriate than ever. \nIf your artwork is chosen you will have the opportunity to display and sell your work in the Salem Art Gallery located within the Satanic Temple HQ. Upon acceptance\, you will receive a consignment agreement/artist contract that you should read through before signing. SUMMARY:Blue Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Galleries at LynnArts invites you for an upcoming exhibition focused on the color Blue. \nFrom clear skies and coastal waters to soft shadows\, shifting light\, and moments of pause\, blue shows up everywhere during these warmer months. It can feel fresh and expansive\, reflective and calm\, playful and dreamy\, or deeply emotional. For this exhibition\, artists are invited to consider how blue appears through landscape\, memory\, movement\, atmosphere\, or feeling. \nBlue may take center stage or quietly weave its way through a piece—as a dominant color\, a subtle accent\, or an underlying mood. Interpretations may be literal or abstract\, intuitive or intentional. \nShare this Post

SUMMARY:Sanctuary for Sensitive Souls
DESCRIPTION:You’re not single-dimensional & your community shouldn’t be either. \nSanctuary for Sensitive Souls is a virtual extension of my work and community building\, helping gentle visionaries\, creatives\, and deep feelers ditch the numbing\, distracting\, and escaping behaviors that dim their brilliance. \nThis is a space for the woman who is done shrinking into boxes that were never built for her. \nFor the woman who is deepening her relationship with herself\, her spirituality\, her creativity\, and the life she is consciously building. \nFor the awakening soul who feels the shift happening on this planet right now and knows she is here to be a part of it. \nThis is your invitation to stop playing small. To show up in the fullness of who you are. To step into your most mystical\, magical\, expansive life and energy. \nSanctuary is a living\, breathing\, evolving co-creation. A community as multifaceted as you are — because you were never meant to fit into one dimension. \nFor sensitive women choosing conscious\, creative\, and awakened living. \n🌿 Link in bio to learn more + join us inside. \nShare this Post

SUMMARY:Knowing Nature: Stories of the Boreal Forest Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Home to 3.7 million people\, 85 species of animals\, 32\,000 species of insects and 2 billion migratory birds\, the boreal forest spans nearly the entire Northern Hemisphere\, just below the Arctic Circle\, and makes up one of the world’s last remaining stretches of true wilderness. \nDiscover the biodiversity and global importance of our northernmost forests through first-person stories\, commissioned objects\, interactive experiences and exquisite photography and videography. \nThe boreal forest is critical to the health of our entire planet. It helps regulate Earth’s climate\, is the world’s largest land biome\, is a critical water reservoir and holds two to three times as much carbon as tropical forests. \nThis timely bilingual exhibition (in English and Spanish) weaves together themes of climate change\, Indigenous perspectives and the relationship between people and nature while taking audiences on a learning journey that starts with curiosity\, builds empathy and leads to action. This family-friendly exhibition is located in The Dotty Brown Art & Nature Center and is part of PEM’s Climate + Environment Initiative. \nFollow along on social media using #PEMKnowingNature \n\nShare this Post

SUMMARY:Beyond the Broom: Salem Short Films Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Discover more than 60 mini-documentaries by local filmmakers.\n\n\n\n\nThese films honor the lesser-known stories of Salem and offer a behind-the-scenes look at what makes this city so remarkable. \nProduced over the course of more than seven years by Perry Hallinan\, Joe Cultrera and many other filmmakers for presentation at the Salem Film Fest\, these short films span topics from breakfast at Red’s to the annual Black Picnic at Salem Willows. For longtime Salem residents\, these stories might spark nostalgia; for new residents and tourists\, they illuminate Salem’s vibrant communities\, bygone businesses and traditions that local filmmakers have long worked to record and preserve. Beyond the Broom showcases the vibrant community of Salem\, one with an identity that extends beyond its witch trials history \nThis exhibition is part of the 2026 celebration of Salem 400+\, which commemorates the quadricentennial of the city’s settlement while honoring the preexisting Indigenous community. The initiative aims to engage the Salem community and ensure a vibrant and sustainable city for generations to come. \nFollow along on social media using #BeyondtheBroom \n\n\nShare this Post

SUMMARY:East India Marine Hall Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Reflect upon the global perspective that has made Salem such a distinctive city as we mark the 200th anniversary of East India Marine Hall. \nExplore several hundred fascinating objects inside the historic hall\, representing a sampling of the many collections that were displayed in the museum during its earliest years. This installation gives voice to early collectors\, trading partners and museum visitors about these objects — with some accounts extracted from records in the museum’s vast archive — and shares perspectives from a range of people living today. These captivating stories and works that reflect local and global history\, as well as the impact of maritime trade\, recenter East India Marine Hall as the heart of the museum. From its inception\, this space and the objects in it have elicited empathy\, curiosity and wonder and transported visitors to places around the world. \nThis project has been made possible in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities: Democracy demands wisdom. Major support is provided by Mr. Ulf B. Heide\, Tim and Joanie Ingraham\, Alex Ingraham\, and Sam Ingraham. Generous support has been provided by Haven Trust\, Mr. and Mrs. James B. Hawkes\, Mr. and Mrs. Howard B. Hodgson Jr.\, Angus and Leslie Littlejohn\, Chip and Susan Robie\, Mr. and Mrs. Stuart W. Pratt\, Katie Huddleson and Alan Kraning\, Edward A. Studzinski and Anne G. Studzinski\, the Salem Marine Society\, and Henry Birdseye Weil and Ann Uppington. Additional support has been provided by The Lee and Juliet Folger Fund\, Jonathan B. Loring\, Walter C. SUMMARY:Fashion & Design Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:PEM’s Fashion & Design gallery invites visitors to consider how we are designing creatures who continually respond to\, mold and manipulate our changing world.\n\n\n\n\nDesign is an impulse that unifies us across time and culture. This installation unifies two traditionally disparate collecting fields\, fashion and textiles with decorative and industrial arts to better understand what underlies our motivations and capacity for design. \nEnsembles from the Iris Apfel Rare Bird of Fashion collection celebrate the exuberant remixing and inventive styling of one of the world’s most prominent fashion icons\, while constellations of unique and culturally significant works of design\, fashion\, and textiles explore distinctive and resourceful forms of creative expression. \nA recent gallery highlight is the display of 38 vibrant and flamboyant ensembles from the collection of Boston-based entrepreneur and fashion icon Yolanda Cellucci. Yolanda’s\, based in Waltham\, Massachusetts\, was a hotspot for lavish evening and wedding ensembles and that became a household name throughout the region\, and a shorthand for glitz and glamor in the late 20th century. Cellucci generously donated 57 works of fashion and accessories to PEM in 2021\, along with archival photographs and materials related to the legacy of her bridal shop. \nShare your impressions on social media using the hashtag #PEMfashionanddesign \n\n\nShare this Post

SUMMARY:DEAD LEAF DESIGNS PRESENTS: AN INSECT TAXIDERMY EXHIBITION BY ADAM INZALACO
DESCRIPTION:Taxidermy is one of the many intersections of art and science. Insect preservation began as a scientific method for studying and cataloging the natural world. Over time\, the practice evolved into an art form\, with techniques for preserving insects becoming more refined and specialized. \nWhile taxidermy itself is a non-religious trade\, it frequently overlaps with Satanic aesthetics due to a shared focus on the macabre\, mortality\, and the subversion of traditional norms. For many modern Satanists\, taxidermy is not about literal worship but about embracing a “memento mori” philosophy—a reminder of death and the value of one’s own finite life. \nAdam Inzalaco is a Massachusetts-based artist who studied fine art at Stony Brook University.  Here\, he would develop a focus in sculpture within the Fine Art Program at SBU. Throughout his time here\, Inzalaco would develop a strong understanding of a wide array of materials and media including steel\, bronze\, woodworking\, ceramics\, and many more. \nThroughout his academic career\, he would often focus his assignments to revolve around the topic of entomology.  He would design works to bring attention to various species of insects’ impressive anatomy as well as address the importance that insects play in the planet’s ecosystem. \nIn addition to studying at University\, he would begin a short internship at the Long Island Exhibition Center in Riverhead\, NY.  Here\, Inzalaco would work alongside the lead entomologist to gather a better understanding of the animals that he had been studying on his own for the duration of his time as an art student. It is at the Exhibition Center where Inzalaco would learn how to pin\, articulate\, and mount all sorts of species of insects\, ranging from beetles to butterflies and mantids to phasmids. \nAfter his time at SBU\, he would use the knowledge he gathered at both University and the Exhibition Center to design insect displays. Thus\, Dead Leaf Designs was born.  At this point\, Inzalaco’s passion became an obsession and continues to use this as the main driving point to make high-quality handmade displays. \nInviolable: adjective never to be broken\, infringed\, or dishonored. \nBodily autonomy has been a central pillar of The Satanic Temple’s mission since its founding. TST is taking many steps on behalf of our members and those who share our beliefs to establish exemptions from laws that do not promote the health and safety of patients and violate our conscience and beliefs. Learn more about this work on The Satanic Temple’s Website. \nThis exhibition features over 25 artists from around the world who have explored bodily autonomy in their work. Through each artist’s unique voice\, viewers are invited to walk in another’s shoes and experience what autonomy means for their peers\, colleagues\, and loved ones. By the careful selection of pieces\, our curator hopes to amplify the voices of underrepresented and marginalized individuals in a world that tries to stifle them. \nShare this Post

SUMMARY:BAPHOMET Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:Mark Porter was born in Warwick\, Rhode Island\, but is based in Brooklyn\, where he has established a studio that merges sculpture\, installation\, and innovative construction techniques across mediums. Trained in classical sculpture\, Mark worked as Boaz Vaadia’s assistant\, finding a great affinity in the artist’s use of space and the natural environment in his sculptures.\n\nWhile Mark does not deliberately court controversy\, his combination of the beautiful and the disturbing rendered with a precise technique and modern mindset can lead the casual observer to mistake him for a provocateur. The greater narrative in this work\, however\, relates to an understanding of the truth that is revealed in the interaction between materials\, form\, and gesture. In this revelation\, strength may be cast in disposable plastics while fragile subtle elements are embodied in steel. \n\nShare this Post

SUMMARY:STRANGE FAMILIARS Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:My paintings combine traditional techniques and materials with formal design. The work puts the illusion of representational painting against the reality of the material and the painting as an object. This duality is also seen in the mixing of contemporary and ancient subject matter found in my work. The visual themes focus on the subjects of history\, myth\, and mortality \nShare this Post
