Diners have a way of creating cult followings. Word of mouth always seems to spread like wildfire when there is a good diner in town. Beyond the food experience, I love people watching at diners. It’s so fun to watch thee waitresses call regulars by their first name while walking over with drink orders before they even look at the menu.
I’m not incredibly loyal to one Diner over the next, but I do have a few local favorites that I’m quick to recommend to anyone interested. Living North of Boston, we don’t want for much in the restaurant department, especially when it comes to the All-American breakfast.
The five diners I’ve listed bellow do all the essential things very well. Eggs cooked to your specs, fluffy, delicious pancakes, and Friendly fast service. Right now, we all are trying to figure out what this autumn will look like at restaurants. Some of us have just got used to dining outdoors and now might be thinking about going back to having food via takeout or delivery.
Discovering new places might not be as easy as it used to be. Relying on reviews and recommendations is something I’m noticing we’re leaning more heavily on these days.
If you’ve been craving a hungry man styled breakfast or even just a delicious savory Benedict, please know that these diners bellow are tried and tested. A smile and a full belly are guaranteed!
5 Diners North of Boston to Check Out This Weekend
Maria’s Place
(978) 744-181710
Jefferson Ave, Salem, Ma 01970
We love this restaurant because there are no pretenses, and they deliver! Maria’s place boasts an Open kitchen concept and well-seasoned wait staff, two of my favorite things.
The Peabody Diner
(978) 854-5800
10 Margin St, Peabody, MA 01960
There are so many reasons to dine at the Peabody diner. My favorite reason is waffles. Not quite sure how they can be crispy and fluffy at the same time. If you’re a waffle fan, you need to try the waffles at Peabody Diner.
Capitol Diner
(781) 595-9314431
Union St, Lynn, Ma 01901
The capitol dinner is so iconically Northshore. You need to go here for the delicious breakfast but definitely, go here to be a part of history. Owned by the Fennell family since 1938.
Zeke’s Place
(978) 283-781766
E Main St, Gloucester, Ma 01930
Arguably home of the best homefries North of Boston. Don’t believe me? Dine-in or get takeout this weekend taste for yourself.
Shawsheen Luncheonette
(978) 475-97503
Lowell St, Andover, Ma 01810
I’m obsessed with the service and the staff here. They keep us coming back. who doesn’t like a cheerful disposition with breakfast?
