Excellence in Art + Design Showcased in Salem State’s Student Exhibition

Students of the Salem State University Art + Design department are showcasing their works in the 2022 Student Art Awards Exhibition March 21 – April 15, 2022 at the university’s Winfisky Gallery. Each year, Art + Design recognizes the achievements of its most outstanding majors and minors. The 2022 Student Art Awards exhibition features the work of 25 students in painting, printmaking, 3D arts, art history, graphic design, and photography. Gallery hours are 10am – 4pm Monday through Friday. The gallery is located on the ground floor of the Ellison Campus Center, North Campus.

“After a two year hiatus, we are delighted to host a live show of student work”, shares Winfisky director Ken Reker. “The works on display demonstrate a wide range of styles, techniques, and viewpoints, reflecting the breadth and depth of Salem State’s art + design program.”

Students receiving special awards for exceptional achievement and contributions to the Art + Design department include: Erin Melin (Peabody) and Samantha Stickney (Plymouth) , Presidential Creativity Award; Alexander Caggiano (Saugus) and Brianna Richardson (Swampscott), Winfisky Award; and Amanda Leahman (Boston), Vitto Samartano Award.

All are welcome to attend an artists reception on Wednesday, April 6 from 4:30 to 6 pm in the Ellison Campus Center.
