Beetlejuice, the Demogorgon, and Jack Skellington went for a walk last Saturday at the Salem Maritime National Historic Site. Beetlejuice’s wig kept falling off and the Demogorgon was begging for treats. A Bearded Dragon floated by wearing Gryffindor House robes.
This was not your average Salem October costume party, this was the 4th Annual Howl-o-ween Pet Costume Parade, hosted by Salem Main Streets.
It was drizzly and cold, but that didn’t stop more than a hundred dogs, three rabbits, one cat, and one bearded dragon from lining up to march in the 2018 Howl-O-Ween Parade and participate in the costume contest. The pets and their parents won prizes from New England Dog Biscuit Company, RJ Coins and Jewelry, Notso Kitty, Cat Black, and Longboards Restaurant & Bar for scariest costume, most creative costume, and best group, with special awards for best non-dog.
Here are some of the best shots of the participants, taken by the Paw-parazzi – Salem Pet Photo.
