Tropical Vibes in Beverly? Impossible no longer thanks to BoneFish Harry’s.
BoneFish Harry’s is self-described as a “West coast style Fish shop meets Tiki Bar flair” and your hit with that vibe the second you walk through the door. This restaurant invokes the use of all senses. Phil and I stumbled upon Bonefish Harry’s after walking up and down Cabot street aimlessly searching for something different and exciting to eat.
When we finally settled on Bonefish, we entered and were promptly seated by a staff member. At our table, we found chalk and a welcoming pitcher of water. The smell from the tiki bar made ordering a rum-based beverage an immediate need. Phil went with the rum swizzle, and I went with the Kraken dark and stormy. Both drinks had a good kick, and we were not prepared for it.
Our order of frings came out before we were able to finish our drinks and it was perfect timing. As I write this review, I can almost taste the frings now. Crispy and lightly salted, regular french fries, sweet potato waffle fries, and onion rings are all mixed in perfect harmony. If for some reason you forget to order this with your meal, order it to go. The frings are a must!
Sounds found in a restaurant can make or break your visit. I can say after eating here it made our visit. We could hear soft music playing in the background, fresh sounds coming from the bar as the bartender mixed and garnished our drinks, and laughter towards the back as the waitstaff and kitchen staff hustled and bustled by our table. The most refreshing sounds of all we feel happen during Sunday’s Reggae brunches. The music takes you away from the Northshore while you brunch with the view of a beautiful tiki bar.
If the drinks, atmosphere, and frings have not convinced you to stop in the entrees we shared should. I was on a health kick the day of our visit and opted for the salmon. Bonefish allows you to “pick your own” I was able to pick a style (Taco, salad, or plate ), protein, Rub, or Glaze. My creation was my own, and I loved how customizable everything was.
Phil went with the steak tips and more frings! Phils Entree Choice seemed a bit basic, but when his dish arrived, I couldn’t stop helping myself to it. The steak was cooked perfectly to temp, packed with tons of flavor, and the Frings were crispy and satisfying just like before. Though we did not get to hit every category of the menu, what we ordered convinced us that Bonefish Harry’s has the basics mastered and is in a lane entirely their own when it comes to the menus offerings.
