We are thrilled to announce an open call for submissions for our upcoming spring art exhibition, themed around the captivating hue of pink. As the season of rejuvenation and renewal unfolds, we invite artists from all backgrounds and mediums to explore the myriad interpretations and expressions of this vibrant color.
Theme:
In this showcase, we celebrate the essence of pink in all its forms and meanings. From soft pastels to bold magentas, from delicate blossoms to vivid sunsets, pink encompasses a spectrum of emotions, aesthetics, and cultural significance. Artists are encouraged to delve into the depths of this color, whether through literal representations or abstract interpretations, and to convey its essence in their unique artistic voices.
Curators:
The curating committee who will be reviewing the artwork. Sheila Golden, our Board Member and Gallery Attendant, is the in-house co-curator of this exhibit from GALA. Amanda Masson is the other co-curator. Amanda is our newest Board Member and Secretary of the board – she is also directing the Pink fundraiser.
Media:
Any media may be submitted – photographs, painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, electronics. Please discuss your needs for technology – most appropriate technology will be provided by you for display.
Artwork Requirements:
• Work should have been completed in the last 2 years.
• Up to 3 pieces of art may be submitted. All works will be considered by the curating committee.
• Size limitations: 36 in x 36 in (including frame) and up to 45 pounds. However, if you have something special that you’d like us to consider – call Annette, to discuss, so we can present it for consideration at installation!
• Artwork must be ready to be installed. Hanging artwork should be framed or sides appropriately finished. Hanging method is gallery style with wire – saw teeth not acceptable (speak to Annette, the gallery director if you have a special framing circumstance). There are a limited number of pedestals available so if you will require one, please discuss your needs at drop off.
• Form with Artist Information must be attached to the back of each artwork.
• Our equation for submission is that the first 2 pieces that you submit should be $300 or under and the last of the pieces may be any price. Please note that artwork MUST BE FOR SALE. We will not accept artwork with the label of NFS (Not For Sale) for this show.

Statements will be included in our artists’ statement / bio binder. Images will be used for social media marketing with artist credit always included.
Timeline:
An online submission form for each piece must be submitted https://www.galleriesatlynnarts.org/artwork-submission-main-gallery if you don’t know how to do this- we will help you at the gallery!

• Wednesday, May 8 1:00pm –6:00pm
• Thursday, May 9 1:00-4:00 pm
• Friday May 10 10am-1pm
• Saturday, May 11 12:00-4:00pm
• BY APPOINTMENT, please call if you’d like to submit work but cannot make these times – we’d be happy to make an appointment with you EARLIER than these dates!
• Artists whose work is not accepted will be contacted by Wednesday, May 151h and the work can be picked up by Saturday, May 18th.

Saturday, May 18th, 6:00-9:00 pm

Your contribution will directly impact our ability to provide resources, workshops, and opportunities for artists to thrive. • Exhibit ends & Pick up of artwork: June 26-29, 2024 unless otherwise scheduled appointment has been made.
Publicity:
The Galleries At LynnArts will promote the exhibition through its website, mailing lists, traditional media and social media regularly throughout the duration of the exhibit.
Sales:
GALA staff will oversee the sale of art. GALA receives 30% commission on sold items. GALA members pay a discounted commission of 25% on sales. All artwork must remain at GALA until the exhibit ends. Payment to artists will be made within 45 business days of the end of the exhibit.
