Essex Art Center invites you to join us in celebrating the creative diversity of our region during our second annual summer event, Fiesta en la calle. The block party will take place on
Saturday, July 16, from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Visitors will experience live music and dance performances, puppet shows, food vendors, and an exhibition of over 200 works of art. In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities to participate in creative activities, including screenprinting, jewelry making, and face painting. Musical acts, curated by Lawrence-native Felipe Collazo, will include AM Goldn, MKF x BOS, Zola Simone, Notebook P, and The Ray Experience.
Essex Art Center’s Executive Director Monica Manoski shared, “Fiesta en la calle is integral to our mission of keeping the arts visible and accessible in our community. In addition, the block party draws residents and visitors together and supports economic development. This year, immediately following the event, we encourage you to visit our 56 Island Street neighbor, Spicket River Brewery, for an afterparty.”
“Last year’s event drew a crowd of 1,827 people, and we anticipate reaching even more this year. It takes a village to pull off an event of this scale. We are especially grateful for our dedicated volunteers, staff, and board.”
