As part of the continued efforts to provide local artists with a platform to share their talents and raise some money in these challenging times we are very happy to introduce this series of live videos that have been running on our Facebook page

Part English class, part dramatic reading, part reflection. In our time together we will delve chapter by chapter into beloved classic The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, reflecting on a theme applied to the chapter, reading some particularly sparkling passages, and finding how the text can inspire us today. Whether this is your first time reading The Hobbit, or your personal copy of the book is as well-loved and comfortably scruffy as Bilbo Baggins himself, this approach to reading this critically acclaimed fantasy novel will offer you new discoveries, rich conversations, and an appreciation for how fiction can not only offer us escape from our world but also a way to connect more closely with our world. As The Hobbit is beloved by children and adults alike, this program is suitable for all ages.
