Meet the Maker is a new series of features highlighting some of the most amazing makers across the North Shore! We will be featuring a handful of new makers every Monday to hopefully help mitigate the added financial strain that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to the creative community. Stephanie, aka Hypnovamp, creates shadowy atomic jewelry that appeals to darker tastes.

Inspired by vintage horror, mid-century design, and the endless void of outer space, these jewels will transport you to a strange and otherworldly realm.

Stephanie harvests shapes from her haunted dreams; visions of many-mooned planets overrun by bats and glowing crystal caves. The result is an undercurrent of eerie, intergalactic energy that enters the metal with the strike of my hammer, and transfers to you when it touches your skin.

Describe your process?

I’ve always been a maker in some form (painting, sculpture, music) but jewelry has become my preferred medium. Having limits to the form/size/function has actually made me a better designer.

Has the COVID-19 pandemic affected your business?

10k.

What measures are you taking to reduce lost revenue?

I’m taking this time to work on some important admin stuff and I’m hoping to start boosting my online sales later this month.

Any advice on what could help in this troubling and challenging time?

Sharing each other’s work on social media!
