In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.
We are a microbrewery and taproom based in downtown Salem with a focus on fun, aromatic, and Asian-inspired ales in a relaxed environment. We aim to have a positive impact by fostering an inclusive environment, hosting events, promoting local eateries and businesses, partnering with charity organizations, and supporting the AAPI community.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.
We started home brewing in our kitchen and love experimenting with ingredients like perilla and mugwort that aren’t common in the craft beer world. We opened the brewery as a way to bring people together and share our creations.
What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)
We host a rotating monthly feature for artists to display and sell prints and other art in our space with a special focus on local and AAPI-identifying artists. We also regularly host live music, food and other pop ups, and art events. We’d love to support the creative community as much as possible!
What was the last book you read OR What was the last video you watched that made an impact on you?
The House in the Cerulean Sea
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
When our four 1,000-lb tanks were delivered they didn’t give us notice so we were out of the state, and they were an inch taller than the door!
