In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.
I am a classically trained goldsmith, and I specialize in custom design, engagement & wedding rings, and working with family stones. I’ve been marrying creativity, design, and engineering to create new heirlooms for over 15 years, and I still absolutely love it every day!
Everything is designed and made in house, with a focus on ethical sourcing and sustainable practices from beginning to end.

Everyone deserves to have a personal jeweler – when it comes to working on such important, sentimental heirlooms, it’s crucial to know and trust the person doing the work! I love working directly with clients to make sure we design the perfect engagement ring, or new piece around their family stones.
Fine jewelry is important. It’s meaningful. Shopping for an engagement ring can be intimidating and overwhelming. Knowing what to do with jewelry you’ve inherited but isn’t quite your style can be a mystery. I really love making these processes easy, fun, and joyous – which is what they should be!
I don’t just know the jeweler, I AM the jeweler. I am genuinely in love with the entire process, and proud to make working directly with your jeweler accessible to everyone.

What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)
One of the things I adore about Salem is how creative this community is. It’s part of why I call this city my home, and it inspires me every day! Nothing about Salem is ‘cookie-cutter’ – it has its own spirit and heart.
Because fine jewelry so often commemorates a momentous occasion, holds so much sentimentality, and is intended to last generations, it should reflect the spirit and heart of the wearer (and the giver!) – especially for particularly important pieces like an engagement ring. Making it possible for anyone to have creative input into such important purchases is a major facet of my mission.
What was the last book you read that made an impact on you?
I recently re-read Let’s Pretend This Never Happened by Jenny Lawson – she has an irreverent, dark sense of humor that I enjoy, and it was definitely a mental oasis in the early days of quarantine.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you our your business?
I once designed and fabricated two custom pendants as gifts from a mother to her children – and each pendant featured the child’s baby or wisdom teeth! Two of the teeth were wisdom teeth, and I had to remove the roots before setting them into the pendant. This is no longer a service that I offer (ha!).
