Meet the Member: Moonrise Fae

Tell us a bit about you and what you do? This could be your mission statement but we (and interested consumers) would love to hear about what you do in your words!

Moonrise Fae is a local faerie troupe connected to the Maine based Magic Sprinkles Entertainment. We are a faerie-themed entertainment company comprised of musicians, storytellers, artists, dancers, fire spinners, and flow artists. We entertain at a variety of venues including children’s and corporate events and parties, parades, garden parties, and festivals. We can bring the magic to any space.

What part of your job would you consider creative, and why do you enjoy that part of what you do?

The faeries of Moonrise Fae use their creative talents in music, art, dance, and writing to create a unique style of entertainment that interactive and otherwordly, whether on a stage or in the midst of a crowd. Most of our characters and content is original, or has been cleverly adapted to fit the spaces we’re performing in.

How does your creative work contribute to the growth and stability of the Creative Economy? If this isn’t applicable: Why do you feel a healthy creative economy is important to a successful community?

Creativity and magic are tied so closely together, without a creative economy, the faeries wouldn’t have the spaces available to perform their wondrous talents, and a world without faeries is a sad and lonely world indeed.

What’s your favorite part of running/managing a local business? (References to how this ties in to your specific community are even better)

The North Shore provides a sense of community and connection that doesn’t really exist anywhere else, at least in my experience. I love running a business in this area because people are so open to new creative ideas, and willing to try out their wings, so to speak. Our community makes it possible for us to do what we do, and we couldn’t be more grateful to them.

What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you our your business?

We can truly perform anywhere, we don’t need a stage, just an audience.
