The Black Veil Studio, located in historic Salem, Massachusetts, transforms macabre visions into timeless tattoo art under the direction of identical twin brothers Ryan and Matthew Murray. Working exclusively in black and grey, these skilled artists draw inspiration from Victorian mourning culture and Salem’s rich history to create their distinctive tattoos. After years of dedicated practice and experimentation with over 1,000 different materials, they’ve created a space that serves as both tattoo haven and curated gallery, where the veil between two worlds grows delightfully thin.
