The Cabot is tremendously excited to announce Tedeschi Trucks Fireside Live and Mavis Staples are slated to perform at “The Cabot’s Big Night” on Thursday, April 14th beginning at 7:30PM. A limited number of tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, January 28th at 10:00AM ET.

The event will be in support of The Cabot’s Capital Campaign, which aims to raise $9.5 million to fully renovate the theater inside and out, with all systems being upgraded and modernized. While much progress has happened to date, The Cabot is excited to restart and finish the campaign after it was put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Cabot’s Big Night is a night of celebration–not just of The Cabot, but of music, and of our shared history with our North Shore community,” said J. Casey Soward. “We would not be here, welcoming such tremendous talent to our stage, without the love and support of our community. We just celebrated our 101st birthday in December, and we will be here for 101 more. We hope everyone will come out for this grand evening as we usher in a new era for The Cabot and our community with fabulous musical guests!”

Tedeschi Trucks Fireside Live is a modified version of the full powerhouse ensemble led by the husband/wife duo of guitarist Derek Trucks and singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi, “two of the best roots rock musicians of their generation” (NPR). With 5 to 8 band members, Fireside Live brings to the stage a rare intimate window into the band’s creative chemistry while still offering dynamic world-class musicianship. From uplifting soulful anthems, to bittersweet ballads and driving rock and roll, they create unique nightly performances that showcase a genre-defying repertoire that is all their own. Tedeschi Trucks Band typically performs at much larger venues and stadiums, making this intimate evening all the more special for the 850-seat Cabot.

Hailed by NPR as “one of America’s defining voices of freedom and peace,” Mavis Staples is a Blues and a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer; a civil rights icon; a GRAMMY Award-winner; a chart-topping soul/gospel/R&B pioneer; a National Arts Awards Lifetime Achievement recipient; and a Kennedy Center honoree. She marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., performed at John F. Kennedy’s inauguration, and sang in Barack Obama’s White House. She’s collaborated with everyone from Prince and Bob Dylan to Arcade Fire and Hozier.

There will be a presale for Cabot Club members beginning on Wednesday, January 26th. VIP tickets and sponsorships are also available, which will include access to a private party prior to the show. For more information, please visit thecabot.org/event/cabot-big-night.

About The Cabot

For a century, The Cabot in Beverly has been a local treasure, a dream palace at the heart of the downtown, and a welcoming gathering place for generations of North Shore residents. Originally known as The Ware, this opulent, neoclassical-style theater was built in 1920 by the renowned architectural firm Funk & Wilcox. Originally used for vaudeville shows and silent movies, it was later owned by the movie chain E.M. Loews. In 1976, The Cabot was purchased by Le Grand David and his own Spectacular Magic Company, and for the next 36 years was home to this world-famous magic show. The Cabot is now being transformed into a 21st century venue for audiences of all ages, with nationally recognized live performers, current and classic movies and community events. Since its reopening in November 2014, The Cabot is once again a vital part of the North Shore’s artistic life. The Cabot celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2020. Visit https://thecabot.org.
