What can be better than a combined late breakfast and early lunch? Well, it’s a good thing that brunch was created as its own category of meal. Here is a list of 7 brunch spots in the Northshore area and even a bonus spot at the end of the list!
Breaking Grounds Cafe – Peabody
Breaking Grounds Café, located in Peabody, Massachusetts, provides employment training to people with disabilities or autism. The Café was created by Northeast Arc to support local restaurants in need of employees. More than 30 people have been successfully placed in jobs throughout the North Shore after graduating from the Project Perk training program.
Breaking Grounds offers an assortment of coffees, teas, classic breakfast options, and sandwiches if you’re feeling more on the go. Their green eggs and ham sandwich is the perfect breakfast sandwich, on the go or to sit down.
Grove Rowley – Rowley
With weekly rotations to their menus, The Grove is a great brunch spot for those who value high-quality and locally sourced ingredients. Their menu also offers a plethora of amazing cocktails to try as well!! Everything on the menu is stunning, but if you want a recommendation for brunch, then the frittata is the way to go.
Kim Gregory Pure Pastry – Beverly
The Tiny Sweet Market is open for walk-up service on Fridays!
On Fridays from 9 am to 4 pm you can find their market tent set up outside Pure Pastry at 8 Gateway Lane in Beverly. They highly encourage pre-orders but will also have a selection of premade pastries in their market cases available for purchase. Check out these vegan golden vanilla cake triangles adorned with sparkling sugar and made lovely with organic rosebuds.
Orders can be placed during their baking days (Mondays through Saturdays) via phone, email or through their website. Choose from curbside pick-up, delivery (for an additional fee) or you can opt to pick your order up at the Tiny Market.
Ledger – Salem
Ledger, located in the former Salem Savings Bank building (circa 1818), is pleased to be a part of the downtown Salem community. This historically unique location houses a progressive New England concept, where traditional 19th-century dishes, cocktails, and techniques are elevated with 21st-century resources. A lot of people have found the salmon eggs benedict to be DIVINE!
Lobster Shanty – Salem

The Lobster Shanty is a seasonal dive bar that serves up food made from scratch and delicious drinks in an unpretentious atmosphere with live music, colorful locals, and the occasional adorable dog. They are best known for their lobster rolls, which never fail, but their Pulled Pork sandwiches are also really good as well.
The Little Depot Diner – Peabody
The Little Depot Diner is a special little breakfast place. A place where cellphones and laptops are things of the future. They still maintain their charm of yesteryear and continue to serve up great comfort food at reasonable prices. So stop in and enjoy the friendly atmosphere, have some fun and enjoy a good meal. Come join for breakfast or just a cup of our fresh ground coffee with their fantastic staff and some rockin’ blues! The Hungarian Sausage and eggs is a huge hit, but definitely don’t sleep on the pancakes with their homemade apple butter!
Front Street Coffee House
Front Street Coffeehouse is a warm, unpretentious coffeehouse serving espresso drinks, sandwiches, soups, salads, and baked goods. With owners who grew up right in Salem, their top priorities are the community, their employees, and their customers. If you’re up to try something different, then the Almond Joy coffee is a fan favorite.

A fan favorite among locals and even out of towners, The Friendly Toast is known for its inventive dishes and unique cocktails. They use the freshest ingredients (locally sourced whenever possible) and are environmentally friendly. Many people know them because of their Boston location, but they’ve recently opened up a spot in Liberty Tree Mall! You know you want to check it out.
