Mark your calendars for September 14th, 2024, when Salem, Massachusetts, will host the first-ever Moon over Salem festival. This one-day event will fill the historic downtown with music and art, showcasing local talent across the North Shore. Organized by MOON: Music Organizers of the Northshore, Moon over Salem builds on last year’s Hope Fest. It aims to offer more variety and a richer experience spread across several venues in the heart of Salem.
A Festival Like No Other
Moon over Salem isn’t your typical music festival. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure experience spread across multiple venues in downtown Salem. From the retro-gaming vibes of Bit Bar to the intimate setting of Gulu-Gulu Cafe, each location offers a unique atmosphere and lineup.
Headliners include the energetic Prince Daddy and the Hyena, the emotive Actor Observer, and the introspective oldsoul. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg – with over 20 confirmed acts and more to be announced, there’s something for every music lover.
Beyond the Music
While the tunes are the main attraction, Moon over Salem offers much more. The Old Town Hall and Derby Square will host a Makers Market featuring local artisans and live producers. It’s the perfect opportunity to discover unique crafts and support local creators.
A Festival with a Purpose
What sets Moon over Salem apart is its commitment to the community. A portion of the proceeds will fund two scholarships for students pursuing music or arts in college – one for a NAGLY youth and another for a student from the Greater Salem area. By attending, you’re not just enjoying great music but investing in the future of arts in Salem.
Choose Your Adventure
With multiple ticket options available, you can customize your festival experience. Whether you want to hop between venues with a full festival pass or focus on a specific location, there’s a ticket. And for groups, the 3-for-2 deal makes it even more affordable to bring your friends.
A Labor of Love
Moon over Salem is the brainchild of Ali Lipman, Tyler Zucco Bernard, and Mat Petrone – three passionate individuals dedicated to nurturing Salem’s music scene. Their combined experience in non-profit administration, event booking, and community engagement ensures that Moon over Salem will be an unforgettable experience.
Join the Movement
Moon over Salem is more than just a festival; it’s a statement. It’s about creating safe, inclusive spaces for music lovers of all backgrounds, supporting local artists, and fostering the next generation of talent. It’s about bringing the community together through the power of music.
So mark your calendars for September 14th, 2024, and be part of this exciting new chapter in Salem’s cultural history. Whether you’re a die-hard music fan or just looking for a unique way to spend a day, Moon over Salem promises an experience you won’t forget.
