Introduction
There was a palpable sense of anticipation and excitement in the air as community members, local leaders, and artists gathered in Lynn, MA, to celebrate the grand opening of EmVision Production Studios. This wasn’t just another business opening; it marked a significant milestone in Downtown Lynn’s expanding arts and culture district.
The Ceremony
Creative Collective, a local organization specializing in economic development, arts and culture, and placemaking, had the honor of hosting this special event. State Rep. Dan Cahill spoke highly of the initiative, describing it as “a great day for the city of Lynn.” He applauded EmVision Studios’s decision to establish its headquarters on this street and neighborhood, emphasizing its desire to make a positive impact. Mayor Jared Nicholson attended the ribbon cutting and awarded Tariana and Jonas with an official city proclamation.
A Labor of Love
Emvision Productions, co-founded by Dr. Tariana V. Little and Jonas Meyer a decade ago, has evolved from a little video production agency to a social impact media agency with industry recognition. The new Lynn building will serve as the company’s headquarters and a co-working space where local artists and organizations can collaborate and showcase their work. Tariana revealed the emotional journey behind the establishment, sharing that she found out she was expecting her second child on the very day they purchased the building. “It’s been a labor of love, literally and figuratively,” she said, holding back tears of joy.
Celebrating Partnerships and Community
Creative Collective’s founder, John, took to the podium to thank various community partners and supporters who have contributed to the arts and culture district’s growth, including a delegation from MassDevelopment. In her speech, Tariana also gave special focus to Anna Dugan, aka artist @annadidathing, for her vibrant mural that adorns the front of the building and the work of Lynn artist Michael Aghahowa, who has installed an expertly curated set of paintings throughout the interior.
Counselor Hannah Bowen for Beverly was also present at the event, whose presence received a warm round of applause. A special shoutout was announced by the Ward 3 councilor from Lynn Coco Alinsug.
The Future is Bright
The opening of EmVision Studios symbolizes more than just a new creative space; it stands for the preservation and enrichment of local culture. It’s a place where people can collaborate, create art, make music, and bring vibrancy to the community.
“We’re working very hard to preserve these wonderful spaces and to enable collaboration among people. Thank you all for being part of this journey,” said John, wrapping up the ceremony.
