As we gather on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we come together as a community to honor the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost, recognize the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of first responders, military personnel, and everyday citizens, and reflect upon a day that forever changed our nation.

In partnership with Beverly 400+, Endicott College is proud to host this commemorative ceremony as part of our shared commitment to preserving history, honoring service, and fostering meaningful community reflection. As Beverly celebrates more than 400 years of history, this gathering serves as an opportunity to remember a defining moment in our nation’s story while strengthening the bonds that unite our community.

This commemorative ceremony will feature reflections from community leaders, moments of remembrance, music, and tributes that acknowledge both the tragedy of September 11 and the resilience that emerged in its aftermath. Together, we will pause to remember those who never came home, honor those who answered the call to serve, and recognize the enduring spirit of unity that brought Americans together during one of our country’s most difficult moments.

For many in attendance, September 11 is a vivid personal memory. For others, it is a historical event learned through the stories of family members, educators, and communities. As we mark this significant milestone, we embrace our shared responsibility to preserve these stories and ensure future generations understand not only what occurred on that day, but also the values of courage, service, compassion, and resilience that followed.

Following the ceremony, complimentary bagged lunches will be available for all attendees. Guests are welcome to remain on campus and enjoy lunch together as an opportunity for continued reflection and conversation, or may take a lunch to go as they depart.

Through remembrance, reflection, and education, we reaffirm our commitment to honoring the past while inspiring future generations to be thoughtful, engaged, and compassionate citizens.

We remember. We reflect. We honor. We carry the story forward.
