About this Event

Join Historic Beverly for a lively and engaging Coffee & Conversation as we take a deep dive into the Civil War with our Archives & Research Manager, Jonathan Schuster. A longtime student of the war, Jonathan will share how his passion for Civil War history began and how it informs his work preserving and interpreting Beverly’s past.

Together, we’ll explore the many ways Beverly contributed to the Union cause, with special attention to the 23rd Massachusetts Infantry, Company G, and the local men who served. What better time than April, the very month the war began, to reflect on the conflict that reshaped the nation and left a lasting mark on our community?

As always, this program is informal and discussion-based. Bring your curiosity and your questions about soldiers’ experiences, home front contributions, regimental history, and even the role coffee played during the war. Whether you are a dedicated Civil War enthusiast or simply eager to learn more about Beverly’s history, this promises to be a thoughtful and engaging morning.

Coffee & Conversation are held every second Friday at 10:00 am at the Cabot House
Admission is free; $5 suggested donation. Coffee provided by https://www.beantrustcoffee.com/
