About this Event

This May, RAW is celebrating Art Week with The Real to Reel FilmSchool Screening on Tuesday, May 26th, and the Exhibit Opening + Block Party on Thursday, May 28th! RAW youth, staff, families, friends, and the greater Lynn community are invited to gather together for a memorable week to celebrate everything RAW + to send off our Seniors through a graduation ceremony. Both events are free and open to the public.

This year’s theme, Undercurrents, invites us to notice what moves beneath the surface of who we are, how we relate, and the world we inhabit. Like tides, roots, and mycelium networks, unseen forces shape our thoughts, actions, and connections to others long before they surface. This is a space to honor silence, witness tension, and recognize the courage it takes to let something rise to the surface and be known.

The Exhibit Opening + Block Party will act as the anchor event for BASH REIMAGINED! Instead of “Partying with a Purpose” at BASH, we’re giving our dancing shoes a break. This year, support RAW through a curated, month-long campaign with opportunities to sponsor an artist, attend our Annual Block Party, and a virtual Silent Auction featuring works by alumni, staff, collaborating artists, and Artists-in-Residence Kofo Adebiyi and Jah’Nyah Spencer. The virtual auction opens on Friday, May 9th and closes on Monday, June 1st.

Come “Create with a Purpose” and meet the moment through art. The event will feature live art-making, music and performances, curated art, and opportunities to support RAW’s mission, all in addition to the Block Party elements you know and love! We can’t wait to see you there. More info at rawartworks.org/art-week-26
