In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.

Boutcher Theatre Company was born out of Bradley and Kari’s shared passion for local theatre. We believe that everyone should have access to Broadway-quality shows at a fair price starring members of their own community. We value equality, fairness, accessibility, truth, and excellence, and we strive to exemplify those qualities in each step of our theatrical process. We are storytellers, and we hope that the stories we tell, and the way we use our voices, will serve to uplift the artists and audiences we love.

What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)

BTC supports a more creative community by producing theatre that involves local artists from start to finish. We want to bring excellent art to our neighbors and provide a safe and equitable environment for local actors to thrive and explore their artistic expression.

What was the last book you read OR What was the last video you watched that made an impact on you?

I’m Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy & The World Deserves My Children by Natasha Leggero, highly recommend reading them together – they really balance each other out!

What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?

That we’ve been creative partners as long as we’ve been romantic partners! While the Boutchers have only been married for a little over two years, their artistic journeys wound together nearly a decade ago and they’ve been inseparable ever since. They’ve done everything from acting in festivals across Boston, to founding an improv troupe, to directing and choreographing a high school musical, and much, much, more!
