Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.
I like to think of myself as a creative problem solver with a passion for people. After years of working agency-side, in-house, and freelance as a designer-turned-commercial-photo-producer-turned-corporate live-entertainment-sales/marketing-guru, I learned all types of business from all different angles.
Now, I help folks discover and design their dream brand so they can do more of what they love—and in turn, do more good in the world. My agency, Good Brand Partners, offers bespoke branding, print/digital design, art direction, and strategic coaching services for the small business owner who want an ironclad identity that speaks to their heart and converts their community into clients.
When I’m not designing logos, crafting color palettes, or strategizing with my clients, I love to spend time in nature, go on hikes with my fiancé (also named Matthew…I know, I know #MattSquared), watch the latest binge-worthy drama, relax with our rescue puppy Eve, and renovate our late 1850s home in Salem into a midcentury modern oasis.
What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)
A creative community is vital to the livelihood of all businesses. Not to mention the impact creative communities have on, well, the community. My branding and design agency contributes to the creative community as my team and I can help creatives communicate with clarity, confidence, and creativity.
By helping them differentiate and identify their branding clearly, we help them reach more customers, impact more lives, and put more goodness into the world.
What was the last book you read or film you watched that made an impact on you?
If I’m being honest, the last book I read that left an impact was The Ride of a Lifetime by Bob Iger — he shares the lessons he learned while running the Walt Disney Company and leading its 220,000-plus employees, and the principles that guided him every step along the journey.
It’s a must-read for anyone, whether your background is commerce or creativity.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you our your business?
We proudly donate a portion of all profits to a local nonprofit each month. It’s our way of saying thank you to the community that uplifts so many.
