A Magical Addition to Salem’s Haunted Happenings: Introducing Misfortune, Salem’s Close-Up Magic Experience

Salem, a city known for its mysterious history, rich culture, and hauntingly good fun, is about to take it up a notch. If you think you’ve experienced all that Salem has to offer, think again! Coming this October, get ready for a night of wonder, amazement, and a touch of the eerie with “Misfortune: Salem’s Close-Up Magic Experience.”

Evan Northrup: The Magician Behind the Magic

Before we delve into the show, let’s talk about the man who’s making it all happen—Evan Northrup. A master in the art of magic, Evan has enthralled audiences far and wide with his spellbinding performances. His unique style fuses tradition with innovation, offering an unforgettable spectacle that resonates with audiences young and old. Evan is bringing his talent to Salem to add a sprinkle of magic to the Haunted Happenings festivities. You won’t want to miss it!

What is Misfortune All About?

The show is unlike any other. A fusion of interactive close-up magic, Salem history, and fascinating superstitions create a one-of-a-kind experience. The city’s first event to focus solely on interactive close-up magic is Misfortune. What does that mean? You, the audience, are just a few feet away from the action and will be invited to participate in the performance. Watch as objects move of their own accord, thoughts are revealed through telepathy, and Tarot cards behave unimaginably.

Who is it for?

Misfortune is designed for adults (18+), but don’t worry; younger audiences with an appetite for magic are more than welcome to join. It’s not intended to be a terrifying event; think of it as spooky but sophisticated. You won’t find any jump scares here—just an intriguing blend of history, superstition, and mind-bending illusions.

When and Where?

When: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in October at 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Where: Professor Spindlewink’s World of Wizardry, located at 194 ¾ Essex St. Salem, MA.
