The holiday months are a time of general good will and merriment, and while this year may look a bit different, there are still many opportunities to support some local causes hosted by organizations and restaurants North of Boston working to bring some brightness into the world.

Here are some of those worthy causes to support in the coming months:

Salem Arts Fundraiser – Countdown to 2021 – 31 Days of Great Prizes

Celebrating 100 Years of The Cabot Theatre

December 3, 2020 @ 7:00 pm

The Lights. Camera. Cabot 100 Celebration is a live streamed event that is FREE so that everyone in our community can celebrate with us. We have recently made a significant investment in technology in anticipation of this exciting night. All you have to do is sign up! Register here.

North Shore Pride’s Virtual Holiday Fair

North Shore Pride is hosting their first ever Virtual Holiday Fair. The event will run from Friday, November 27th through the end of December. Click here to find out more information about how to be a vendor.

Po’Boys and Pies Thanksgiving Fundraiser for Leap for Education

Po’Boys and Pies will be teaming up with LEAP for Education for 2020 pie sales! A percentage of each pie sale will be donated to LEAP.

Pickup orders will be ready the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

The Derby Restaurant’s Mustache Fundraiser for the Salem Fireman’s Relief Fund

On average 22,979 fire fighters are injured on the job a year in the United States and there are over 1,000,000 fires a year ranging from residential to outdoors. From car accidents to medical emergencies to house fires or a cat in a tree, these guys are always here when we need them!

Now is your chance to say thank you! Stop down at the Derby in Salem and hang a stache for the Salem Firemen’s Relief Fund today. The fundraiser will be happening through the end of the month.

Feeding Opportunity and Community – Root’s 5th Annual Virtual Event

November 12, 2020 @ 6:30 pm – UPDATE 11/13 – While this event has passed, you can continue to support Root’s ongoing efforts here.

Support the power of individual and community resilience and Root’s response to the pandemic, and the launch of our Community Catering!

Join them in the Root kitchen, Thursday, November 12th from 6:30 to 7:00 PM for a Live-Stream Broadcast! Click here to register or to bid on the silent auction.

During the broadcast you can check out some of the virtual cooking classes being offered to benefit Root and the unique auction items available for bidding this week, or virtually Raise your Paddle for Root to help support our work in the year ahead.

Auction items include the opportunity to create your dream dinner working alongside Chef Frank McClelland, guitar or songwriting lessons with Livingston Taylor, and a Root catered dinner!
