Latinx Heritage month starts today, September 15th and lasts through October 15th. The month-long celebration honors the contribution of people with roots in Central America, South America, Spanish speaking Caribbean nations, Portugal, Spain, Equatorial Guinea, and other Latinx populated regions in the United States and across the globe.

Why does Latinx Heritage Month start on September 15th?

September 15th is the anniversary of independence for Costa Rica 🇨🇷 El Salvador 🇸🇻 Guatemala 🇬🇹 Honduras 🇭🇳 and Nicaragua 🇳🇮 . Mexico 🇲🇽 celebrates its independence on September 16 and Chile 🇨🇱 on September 18th.
