On September 27th, 2019, the Essex County Community Foundation hosted the Essex County Arts & Culture Summit at The Cabot and Montserrat College of Art. The Summit was part of ECCF’s Creative County Initiative, a partnership with the Barr Foundation to increase the visibility and impact of the transformative power of arts and culture.

On the day of the event, ECCF announced that it will be making an additional $1.3 million investment in arts, culture and the creative ecosystem of Essex County over the next three years.
Poet Caroline Harvey opened the summit with a moving performance. You can read her words and see that performance here.
