Case Study

Peabody International Festival

The
Project

For more than four decades, the Peabody International Festival has filled downtown Peabody with food, music, dance, art, cultural organizations, local businesses, and thousands of visitors. It is the City’s signature celebration of the cultures and communities that make Peabody what it is.

A festival with that history does not need an outside organization to take it over. It needs dependable partners who can own specific pieces, return year after year, and work inside the larger civic structure.

Creative Collective serves in that focused role: leading the artisan market, supporting festival promotion, and participating in the core planning team. The festival committee retains fundraising and the broader production operation.

Project Timeline
Multi-year annual partnership

Actions

Creative Collective holds one defined lane from early planning through festival day:

  • Leads the artisan market, including applications, outreach, vendor selection, contracts, communication, site planning, and market-day operations.
  • Builds a curated vendor mix that gives local makers and small creative businesses a place within a larger multicultural celebration.
  • Supports festival promotion through Creative Collective’s regional editorial, social, email, and community channels.
  • Participates in the core planning team, carrying practical knowledge forward from one year to the next and coordinating the artisan lane with the larger festival.
  • Maintains clear responsibility boundaries: the festival committee and municipal partners retain fundraising, sponsorship, entertainment, food vendors, public operations, and overall event production.

The multi-year structure gives the City both continuity and specialized capacity without separating the artisan market from the larger community celebration.

Impact

  • Sustained a multi-year support relationship with the Peabody International Festival, bringing continuity to artisan-market planning and regional promotion.
  • Managed 22 artisan bookings representing 22 unique vendors during the completed 2025 festival cycle.
  • Generated $3,335 in 2025 artisan-market participation revenue to support the vendor program.
  • Connected local makers and creative businesses to Peabody's largest annual public celebration and its audience of thousands.
  • Created a repeatable municipal partnership model with a clear division between Creative Collective's artisan and promotional scope and the festival committee's broader production and fundraising responsibilities.

The strength of this partnership is continuity without takeover. The City and festival committee hold the history, civic relationships, cultural participation, fundraising, and full public event. Creative Collective brings a specialized small-business network, artisan-market systems, promotion, and years of practical knowledge inside the planning process.

That combination gives independent vendors a place within a major municipal celebration and gives the larger festival a reliable partner for one complicated program lane.

Long-term partnership turns a yearly event into shared infrastructure.
