Students in Salem State’s ART 236 class share their research on everyday objects in the Danvers Historical Society collection and what they reveal about local history and American society, past and present. Music

University Chamber Orchestra Concert. April 18, 7:30 pm.
Recital Hall, 71 Loring Ave. Salem State University.

The University Chamber Orchestra presents its end of semester concert under the direction of Mary-Jo Grenfell. Admission is free although a goodwill offering at the door to support scholarships for music majors is welcome. Additional information: salemstate.edu/arts or 978.542.6365.

University Chorus and Chamber Singers. April 23. 7:30 pm.

This sweeping musical portrait of early-twentieth-century America tells the stories of three families in pursuit of the American Dream.  Together, they confront history’s timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and what it means to live in America.
