Soundscape Visions Returns to Lynn Arts with World Premiere Audio-Visual Performances

Artist-musician collective debuts three new compositions featuring electro-acoustic viola and collaborative work with Ukrainian children’s art studio

Immersive Audio-Visual Experience Coming to Lynn

Soundscape Visions, the artist-musician collective, returns to the Galleries at Lynn Arts on Friday, April 10, 2026, for an evening of live music and large-scale video art. The performance marks the debut of three new audio-visual compositions alongside audience favorites. Additionally, it introduces a new electro-acoustic dimension to the ensemble’s sound.

A New Sonic Architecture

The April 10th performance features a prominent shift toward a more complex resonance. For the first time, founder and project leader Alexander Vavilov will utilize an electro-acoustic element in his viola playing. This expands the purely acoustic sonority of the ensemble. Joining Vavilov are Ara Sarkissian on piano and distinguished guest artists Ken Field on saxophone and Rafael Popper-Keizer on cello.

Three World Premieres

The April 10th program features the debut of three significant works that merge live musical performance with high-definition visual media:

“Kazky” (Preview)

This exclusive first look showcases a new collaborative project with Aza Nizi Maza, an art studio in Kharkiv, Ukraine. The studio is celebrated for its spectacular art created by children and teenagers, including neurodivergent artists. Importantly, it is located in the Ukrainian frontier city of Kharkiv, which has been the subject to near daily bombardment since 2022.

The preview performance of the 1st composition in the Kazky series features fairytale-themed artwork by the artist children of Aza Nizi Maza and music for electro-acoustic viola and cello by Vavilov. This preview performance offers a glimpse into the planned series of visual fairytales based on Aza Nizi Maza’s artwork. The official series premiere is planned for Fall 2026 at Lynn’s Washington Street Baptist Church.

“Forever With You”

A premiere featuring François-Xavier de Costerd’s latest environmentally-themed video art and Vavilov’s music.

“City Mood”

A new audio-visual composition based on de Costerd’s evocative photography and featuring music by Sarkissian.
