The Creative Collective Merchant Marketplace has partnered with the City of Peabody to expand Vendor Fair for 36th Peabody International Festival.

Peabody, MA – For more than three decades, The Peabody International Festival has attracted thousands of people to downtown Peabody with live music, artists, and food inspired from around the world. This year, Creative Collective has partnered with the International Festival Committee and City of Peabody to expand the Vendor and Artisan Market for the 2019 festival, now in its 36th year.  The Creative Collective Merchant Marketplace has created a dynamic market on the Foster Street section this year, featuring 40+ local and regional artists, creators, and makers featuring a range of handmade goods and fine crafts. Some of this year’s vendors include mural artist Annadidathing, beeswax and honey crafters Beverly Bees, and ADC Jewelry Designs – Exquisite Jewelry for a Cause. There will also be a series of “Art in the Moment” activities with live art demonstrations throughout the day.

“Local makers, artisans, and craftsmen are a critical piece of the creative economy and as we push towards more diversity and inclusion in these markets, a partnership with the City of Peabody and the International Festival made a lot of sense,” said Creative Collective founder John Andrews.  “It is exciting thinking about how some of these vendors/artisans/makers could be future shop owners in Downtown Peabody and across the region. Dynamic and well-attended markets such as this venerable one are great opportunities for these small businesses to share their creations as well as help their businesses grow”

“It is great having Creative Collective involved with the Peabody International Festival this year. Last year, we tested the concept of expanding the festival to have an increased focus on handcrafted products. The feedback from Festival attendees was great! People appreciated the new addition to the International Festival. Bringing the Collective into help manage this area has allowed us to reach a larger group of vendors to enhance the experience even further and highlight the many creative enterprises that are located in Peabody.” proclaims Tim Brown, Director of Innovation and Strategy, Northeast Arc.

The market will be located on Foster Street and will be anchored by the annual artisan gallery sale presented by Peabody Arts Association. During the event, there will be an interactive Children’s element called “Kid’s Day,” which will take place at the East End Veterans Memorial Park on Walnut Street. The family-friendly potion will be starting at noon and will feature several different interactive shows and activities for children, moon bounces, and arts & crafts. Admission is free to the public. Entertainment begins at 11:30 am and booths open at noon; the Festival ends at 5:00 pm.
