Salem Literary Festival brings the joy of reading to the community with the launch of One Book, One Salem. Beginning on August 1st, this event is a celebration that connects readers from all walks of life. And the best part? You’re invited to join!
What’s It All About?
One Book, One Salem is a community-wide reading adventure. This year, we’ll read How Not to Drown in a Glass of Water by the renowned author Angie Cruz. It all culminates in a live, in-person gathering at Salem Literary Festival on September 6.

Salem Literary Festival
Inspiring and promoting literacy, the Salem Lit Fest is a beacon for book lovers. In collaboration with Salem Public Library and other organizations, it continues to foster the love of reading.
Salem Athenaeum
With a history dating back to 1810, the Salem Athenaeum serves as an independent membership library and cultural hub. Its mission is to preserve and excite the literary and cultural passions of the North Shore.
Salem Public Library
A part of the North of Boston Library Exchange, the Salem Public Library is a treasure trove for readers. Housed in a beautiful 1855 renovated brick mansion, it continues to be a vital part of the community.
