Our Experience

For over a decade, Village Tavern has been a staple of Salem’s dining and nightlife scene. The kitchen is led by Culinary Director Ahmad Hamdi, whose scratch-made menu spans hand-tossed pizzas and smash burgers to braised short ribs and fresh Icelandic haddock. Meanwhile, the bar program delivers a rotating lineup of local craft drafts, creative cocktails, and an extensive bottle and can selection.

The Menu

Village Tavern’s menu is built around familiar favorites done exceptionally well. Shareables, hand-tossed pizzas, smash burgers blended from chuck, brisket, and short rib, and hearty tavern entrees like the 14 oz Ribeye and Prime Rib give every guest something to look forward to.

Drinks

The Village Tavern bar is a destination in its own right, with an extensive draft list leaning into New England craft breweries alongside national favorites. The cocktail menu features Village originals like the Famous Village Mudslide alongside martinis, tiki drinks, shots, and mocktails.

Late-Night Dining & Entertainment

After 9 PM, a dedicated late-night menu keeps the evening going seven nights a week. Weekly programming includes trivia, comedy, open mic nights, and live music — and Boston’s best DJs take over every Friday and Saturday with no cover charge.

Private Events & Catering

Village Tavern specializes in private events from birthday parties to corporate gatherings. Governor’s Hall accommodates 25 to 150 guests, while the Tap Room suits more intimate groups of up to 75. Both include a private bar, linens, china, and a dedicated event manager. Off-premise catering with delivery and professional setup is available as well.
