Three people in business attire brave the waves, reminiscent of a RoadShow. One stands in the foreground, another raises an arm behind, ScreenDance energy blending with the blurred background and overcast sky.

About this Event

Join us in the Sophia Gordon Center on September 18 for Season 9 of ScreenDance RoadShow, the only traveling short dance film series in New England that showcases contemporary creative voices exploring choreography for the camera. Each season, a diverse program of dance films from around the world are screened at venues across New England.

ScreenDance RoadShow takes the traditional film festival format on tour and into non-traditional film venues—art galleries, music halls, performing arts theaters, university classrooms—exposing the films and filmmakers to new audiences. Screenings are followed by Q&As with the curators; film artists are invited and encouraged to join. Past venues have included Colby College (ME); Dean College (MA); Jamestown Arts Center (RI); Newport Art Museum (RI); Providence Public Library; Redfern Arts Center (NH); School for Contemporary Dance & Thought (MA); Trinity College (CT); Zeiterion Performing Arts Center (MA); and beyond.

ScreenDance RoadShow is curated by Ali Kenner Brodsky and Andy Russ.

A suggested $10 donation at the door will support the work of the Dance Honors Society. All students admitted free with ID as well as those under 18. Advance reservations are not required.

Parking
Parking is available on Lafayette Street and Loring Avenue. Due to construction the surface lot on Lafayette Street is closed.

If no street parking is available event guests are welcome to park in the North Campus Parking Garage (43 Meier Drive) accessible via  Meier Drive from Loring Avenue.
