May is Jewish American Heritage Month! We’ve rounded up some of the ways to celebrate, learn, and explore about this rich heritage, but we would love to hear some suggestions from you as well.

The Struggle for Soviet Jewry and the Making of a Local Émigré Community at The House of the Seven Gables on May 2 @ 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Join us for Salem Ancestry Days as we welcome Dan Eshet and Regina Kazyulina to talk about one of the many immigrant communities on the North Shore.

Vilna Shul – Boston’s Center for Jewish Culture

The Vilna, located on historic Beacon Hill, is the last-remaining immigrant era synagogue building in Boston and now serves as a center for Jewish culture and communal engagement. We offer opportunities to connect and explore one’s culture, experience the arts and engage in big Jewish ideas.

The Boston Festival of New Jewish Music 1.8. Yoni Battat at BackRoom at The Boston Synagogue on May 25, 2022 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Join us for the eighth concert of the Boston Festival of New Jewish Music, a free monthly concert series presenting original music drawing from the Jewish cultural experience. Hosted by BackRoom at The Boston Synagogue, co-presented by JArts, and live-streaming everywhere, the Boston Festival of New Jewish Music highlights the best in Jewish-influenced music by composers and performers who live right here in our own backyard.

All concerts will be performed live at the Boston Synagogue and live-streamed.

Synagogues of the United States: Jewish American Heritage Month Commemoration – Online on May 10th at 7:00pm

The “Synagogues of the United States” program features some of the oldest congregations such as the Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue in New York and the Touro Synagogue in Newport, Rhode Island.

Reflections on 125 Years of Rich Jewish History in Newburyport with Congregation Ahavas Achim – June 12th at 4pm

Join CAA, in-person or over Zoom, and a panel of long time community members and descendants of the Synagogue’s founders for reflections on the history of the synagogue and Jewish life in Newburyport in honor of our 125th anniversary.

  • Pure Cold Press – 326 Harvard Street, Brookline: Pure Cold Press opened on June 2015 at Coolidge Corner, Brookline, Massachusetts with the novel concept of being the first certified Kosher juice and salad bar in Boston.   • Jerusalem Pita – 10 Pleasant Street, Brookline – Promising “a taste of Jerusalem” in Brookline, this popular pita and grill restaurant offers a range of home-cooked middle eastern dishes. The eatery is also certified Glatt Kosher.
