In your own words, tell us about your business, organization, or initiative.
My shop is a unique blend of curated treasures, creativity, and craftsmanship. I travel frequently abroad and to vintage markets to hunt for one-of-a-kind beads, pendants, charms and other supplies to create compelling collections that inspire jewelry makers. In addition to the curated bead selection, I offer a range of jewelry-making workshops, from beginner to advanced, where students can learn new skills and bring their designs to life. My small boutique also features handcrafted artisan jewelry, made by me, my students and teachers. Whether customers are looking for the perfect bead, to learn a new skill, or shopping for a beautiful piece of jewelry, my store offers something special for every creative soul.
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do. Share your passions for your business, organization, or initiative.
My passion for jewelry design and bead collecting is deeply rooted in my love for travel and the thrill of discovering vintage and found objects with unique histories. Each bead I collect tells a story, whether it’s from a distant place or a forgotten time, and I’m fascinated by the journey these treasures have taken before they find their way into my hands. As a designer, I strive to weave these stories into my collections, blending the old with the new to craft jewelry that not only captures the essence of the past but also resonates in the present. Sharing these stories with my customers is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work, as it connects them to the rich history and meaning behind the pieces they wear.
What is the last thing you read, watched, or listened to that had an impact on you?
Early mornings, sometimes before the sun has risen, I walk on the beach with my dog. The serenity of the tide and colors of the lightening skyline ground and inspire me. The sounds, sights and smells stay with me throughout the day as a calming and creative force.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
Years ago, I left behind a lucrative career as an attorney, compelled to lead a more creative life. Everyone thought I was mad as I was still in the throws of raising 3 kids as a single mother. While there have been many struggles since, I have never regretted my decision as everyday I get to work amidst artists and creators and lead my best and most fulfilling life.
