In your words… Tell us about your organization, business, initiative.
Planet Social is a creative digital marketing agency with the goal of making your online presence look and feel spicy! We’ve worked with clients from all over the world, literally. Our specialty lies in creating your digital identity through catered strategies in social media management, email marketing, web design, and graphic design. Letting our clients run their day to day business without having to worry about the marketing aspect is what we do best!
Tell us a bit about you and why you do what you do? Share your passions for your business, initiative, organization.
Let’s throw it back to when a freshman in college studying Business (Marketing) while working part time at a ski/snowboard shop. It was during this time I had that “a-ha!” moment, I wanted to continue my career in action sports marketing once I graduated.
After applying for what felt like hundreds jobs, I finally struck gold and landed a marketing position with an international action sports brand. I spent the next 7 years leading digital marketing for North America, and what I learned during that period was invaluable.
I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and I was craving something new and needed a change. Deep down I’ve always wanted a business of my own, so I went for it, and Planet Social was born.
What role do you think your business plays in supporting a more creative community? OR your community in general. (Bonus! Why do you think a more creative community is important?)
Community is everything and making connections is a huge part of what makes businesses grow. By laser focusing on the more “creative” aspect of community, we can really help one another out in finding ways to grow, expand, and work together.
What was the last book you read OR What was the last video you watched that made an impact on you?
Just had to check my Goodreads account for this one!
I’d say the book “In Order To Live” by Yeonmi Park. It’s a true story about Yeonmi Park, a defector from North Korea. It’s her story about escaping the regime and it’s incredible.
What’s the one thing people would be surprised to learn about you or your business?
This is a low-key flex, but I made a flyer for Paris Hilton that she posted on Instagram, and also made a reel for Linkin Park… NO BIGGIE!!!
