a Forest, then is the creative studio and umbrella under which Cass makes and experiments. Inspired by nature and a desire to honor its magic, the work includes small bone and insect taxidermy that gently memorializes the creatures it comes from, wall hangings that evoke flowers and open skies, and illustrations pulled from the things Cass loves — and the harder-to-name things carried inside. Some pieces are decorative, some functional, all lovingly made and printed in Salem.

Ghost Ship Market

Ghost Ship Market is a curated pop-up market celebrating goth, witchy, vintage, and artisan culture, held on second Saturdays from May through September in Derby Square, Salem. Founded in 2023 and now organized by Cass, the market brings together carefully selected vendors offering unusual jewelry, metaphysical wares, oddities, original art, books, and more. Moreover, Ghost Ship Market is a welcoming space for the entire spectrum of the goth and alternative community — elder goths, baby bats, and everyone in between.

Salem Cat Aid

Salem Cat Aid is a grassroots cat rescue resource serving Salem, Massachusetts. Cass fosters and provides behavioral rehabilitation for cats in need, runs a cat food pantry for Salem locals, and offers guidance and advice to reduce stray populations and surrenders. In addition, Salem Cat Aid connects community members with resources to help them keep and care for their cats rather than surrendering them.
