Paint by the Ocean

Annette Jay Sykes, the artist behind Paint By The Ocean, completes plein air oil paintings of seascapes, abstracted ocean scenes, and other New England-inspired scenes by the ocean out her front door. A local artist, Annette resides in Lynn, MA and is the President and Gallery Director of Galleries at Lynn Arts (GALA). Annette is an objective painter who works in media ranging from oil to watercolor to pastels, especially when she is painting her favorite oceanscapes and cityscapes. She also works with a range of drawing materials when doing life drawing and portraiture. Annette works mostly from direct observation. As an observational artist, she draws and paints what she sees: the scene, the light, and the people.
